Comfort foods

I love food and I love cooking. To me, it generally makes sense that if you love to eat you should at least know how to cook some foods.

I’ve been cooking since I was about 8 years old. Started with breakfast – probably just fried eggs and toast – and continued after that. As a child I used to help my mom in the kitchen every Sunday with her baking and my brother and I would lick the mixing bowl afterwards. You know, before you couldn’t.

As an adult, I have always cooked my own meals, however, we do like to go out as a family to a decent restaurant once per month.

I like experimenting with new foods, but I don’t get to do it often enough because life is so busy as it is. Also, in some strange twist of fate, my children can be really picky eaters (groan!).

One of the challenges I have reset for myself is to cook something new once per week. Not going great so far! Anyway, here are some tasty foods I’ve found and some I’ve made myself.
