My life in 1981:

Moved house…

Went from 7th grade into 8th grade…

Best friends were Karen and Jackie…or Tonya and Gillian, depending on the day of the week…

“Bette Davis Eyes”, “Jessie’s Girl”, “Sukiyaki”, and “Stars on 45” and Solid Gold…

Internet?

Hardly! Yet here they are, in good old 1981, discussing the future of having your morning coffee while reading your newspaper on your home computer.

At that time, home computers were a rarity. The San Francisco Examiner cost 20 cents, connection and use charge was $20 per hour, and dial up really meant dialing up.
