But it’s the voice of 23 year-old Yorkshire, UK native, John Newman. Raised on a steady stream of Motown hits, his very cherubic face belies the husky, soulful vocals, and the passion with which he delivers.
In 2012, it was John Newman’s lead vocals on Rudimental’s number one single, “Feel the Love”, which he also co-wrote, and suddenly he was propelled into the spotlight. Later on that year, he was again the featured artist on their follow up single, “Not Giving In.”
In October 2013, Newman released his first solo album, “Tribute”. The single “Love Me Again” debuted at number one on the UK singles chart and has peaked in the top 10 in eight other countries. Take a listen:
